Slate.com Becomes First Major News Outlet To Cover Book And Its IndieGogo.com Crowdfunding Campaign

***FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE***

LOS ANGELES, CA: Electronic music photojournalist and author Michael Tullberg today announced the release of a new article about the IndieGogo campaign for his upcoming rave photo book “DANCEFLOOR THUNDERSTORM: Land Of The Free, Home Of The Rave”, on the famed news web site Slate.com. Written by journalist Jordan Teicher for Slate.com’s Behold photography blog, the piece entitled “Capturing the Chaotic, Psychedelic Vibe of L.A.’s Endless Raves”, marks the first time that a major mainstream news media outlet has covered a crowdfunding campaign for any electronic music-related project. The web address of the story is as follows:

“I am very pleased and happy that Slate.com has decided to bring attention to this much-neglected period of American music and pop culture.” said Tullberg. “It is heartening to see that the mainstream media is finally beginning to publicly acknowledge that the rave scene was an incredible explosion of music, talent and art that deserves its own chapter in the annals of pop culture. The fact that Slate has made “DANCEFLOOR THUNDERSTORM” the focal point for its recognition is particularly gratifying, and I’m confident that the increased attention will see the book’s IndieGogo campaign through to its successful conclusion.”

The IndieGogo campaign that is the subject of the Slate.com article runs until the end of June, and has to date raised 75% of its target goal of $10,000.00. Following the end of the campaign, the book is slated to come out later this year under Tullberg’s own 5150 Publishing Inc. label. The web address of the campaign is:

The book also enjoys kudos from the Electronic Music Alliance.
