More Updates; Insomniac article!
Hey all,
OK, here's the latest. The advance copies of the book are due to arrive any minute. The release party is now slated for october 8 at Industry DTLA. The party will NOT be officially part of the Downtown L.A. ArtWalk, though it will be taking place right next to it. The party is going to be very old-school in nature, with great DJs like Mark Lewis, Sandra Collins and Riley Warren set to spin (plus one more TBA!). I'm getting the big prints mounted as we speak, they're gonna look great up on Christian's walls.
In other VERY good news, my recent interview with Scott Sterling has just been released on Insomniac's web site as a very cool piece about "DANCEFLOOR THUNDERSTORM". I've known Scott for many years and it was a pleasure strolling back along memory lane with him. He's put together a very good piece that I think covers just about all of the major point we touched upon in the interview. I was especially pleased that he mentioned my admiration for Ken Burns' "JAZZ" when it originally broadcast (coincidentally?) during the high point of the Second Wave of the rave scene. Here's a link to the story:

The next several weeks are going to be about gearing up for the launch party, and the full-on courting of the media. This is what it's all about: getting the word out to the people, and not just the rave community, either. Maximum push.
